Year 4 Homework

Date set: 10.6.16

  • Reading every day. Please write in your reading diary when you have read.
  • Maths (20mins):

Our topic this week is Fractions. Maths work will be posted on mathletics, if you have any problems accessing this work please speak to the teacher for a paper copy. Please also practise your times tables up to 12 x 12.

 

-      Literacy (20mins): In PSHE we will be talking about people that are important to us.  Please bring in a photo or drawing of someone special to you that you can stick in your book.
-      Write a paragraph describing the person and why they are special to you.  Try to include:
 
o   Expanded noun phrases (eg When I go to her small house she gives me a great big loving hug.)
o   Fronted adverbials (eg In the morning, he makes my breakfast)

  • Spellings (20mins) should be practised for a short time each day, using the words given in sentences.

You need to:

 • look at each word

• say the word

• copy the word in first space

• cover the words and try to write it from memory

• check to see if they are right

Group 1: your spellings are of compound words which have been made by joining two smaller words together.

Group 2: Your words all contain the prefixes micro and mini.
