the next few weeks, we will be reading some fairy stories and writing balanced
arguments based on these stories. For your homework, we would like you to write
(in your own words) either the story of Jack and the Beanstalk, Goldilocks and
the Three Bears, or Little Red Riding Hood.
Please
post your homework onto the blog. If you don’t have access to the blog, you can
write your homework neatly on lined paper. Please remember to write in paragraphs (use a
new paragraph for a new time, place or topic). If you include direct speech in
your story, make sure it is punctuated correctly. Remember to check your work

This is an English fairy tale.
Jack, Mum, Daisy, the stranger, the beanstalk and the giant are the characters of this story.
Jack is a young, poor boy who lived with his mum who was a widowed woman. Days, the cow was their only source of food. When the cow stopped giving milk Jack’s mum told him to take the cow to the market to be sold. Jack meets on his way to the market a stranger who gave him some magic beans in exchange for the cow.
Mum was very angry with Jack because he didn’t have any money and she had thrown the beans on the ground sending Jack to bed without meal.
When Jack woke up in the morning he saw a huge beanstalk. The next morning he climbed the beanstalk to a high land up in the sky. There he found a huge castle and he went in. Meanwhile a giant, the owner of the castle returns and senses Jack is near by. During the night when the giant sleeps Jack is climbing again the beanstalk which was twice higher and steels a goose that laid the golden eggs, then a harp that was playing itself. When the giant woke up Jack was down. His mum gave Jack an axe to cut down the beanstalk, he cut down the beanstalk and the giant feel down and died.
Jack and his mum lived very rich happily ever after.

This is an English fairy tale written by Brothers Grimm.
Little Red Riding Hood, mum, grandma, the wolf and the huntsman are the characters of this story.
One day Little Red Riding Hood went to visit her granny who was very sick. Her mum gave her a nice basket with a good cake and a bottle of wine.
On her way she met a bad wolf. The wolf asked Little Red Riding Hood where she is going. She said that she is going to her granny’s house which is behind those trees. The wolf runs to granny’s house and eats her and put on her clothes, her glasses and lays down on her bed.
When Little Red Riding Hood reached granny’s house she was shocked when she saw granny’s big eyes, big ears, big nose and big teeth.
The wolf shouted to Little Red Riding Hood that he ate granny and now he is going to eat her too.
The huntsman heard a loud scream and he went to see what happens in granny’s house. He saw the wolf being ready to swallow Little Red Riding Hood. He hits the wolf over the head. The wolf opened his mouth and granny jumped out.
The wolf run away and Little Red Riding Hood never see him again.

Jack and the Beanstalk
ReplyDeleteJack and his mother were very very poor. They had almost no money but they had a cow called Daisy. One day Jack's mother told Jack to take Daisy and try to sell her for some money. So Jack set off. On his way he met an old crazy man. He remembered what his mother said:'Sell it to anyone you see as long as they give you money,'. So he approached the man. 'Excuse me do you want a cow?' he asked 'She can pull carts and she is friendly'. The man looked a bit taken aback at all of this.' Yes I would love a cow' he replied in a hoarse voice 'But I'm afraid that I only have these magic beans to offer you.'
'Okay here is the cow, can I please have the magic beans?' Jack said. 'Plant them in your soil as soon as you reach home,and beware!' The old man added mystically. Jack made his way home with hurried steps, excited with his success. When he reached home, he rushed into the kitchen looking for his mother who was making Sunday Roast but only without any chicken. 'Mother mother!I sold the cow and I got some magic beans!' 'Magic beans? But we don't need any magic beans! We need money!' hurling the beans outside. Jack was sent to bed without any dinner.
He woke up the next morning and looked outside his window,he was amazed to see a ginormous beanstalk so tall that it could touch the ISS where Tim Peake was!He quickly rushed downstairs skipping his breakfast (even though he had no dinner the previous night) and ran to his mother who was standing outside staring at the gigantic beanstalk.
'Ahh..Jack you're awake,I would like you to climb the beanstalk and check what is at the top please.' she exclaimed.'But....' 'No buts,I would like you to climb up please.she said. 'All right if you say so' and thus he started climbing up.
After about half way he started smelling smoke. 'Meteorites,I must be near the end of the atmosphere'. He carried on climbing nevertheless for some more time. He suddenly saw a golden egg. Hmmm...what is a golden egg doing here?
ReplyDeleteHe finally arrived at the top of the beanstalk which was amidst the clouds. He did a mental risk assessment if it was safe to step onto a cloud, (as you never knew if you would fall through) and then gingerly stepped on the cloud. He walked up a couple of steps,turned a corner and saw a gigantic door of a gigantic house. He opened the door with a lot of effort and saw that the house was fit for a giant which was a bit scary as if a giant was living there,you never knew if it would eat you alive. He walked around a few steps and then stopped at the sound of thundering footsteps. 'Grelda,where is my dinner' roared a voice. 'It's coming dear.'roared another loud voice although it was not as loud as the first one.
Jack was flabbergasted to see a giant moving towards him carrying a gigantic plate of eggs,beans and bacon. The giant sat down and started to eat. Jack watched the giant until he got up and put his plate away. He came back with 4 gigantic sacks of money. The giant started counting the money and Jack quickly
ran to hide underneath the table.The giant got up and returned with a goose in his hands.The giant popped the goose on the table and she promptly laid a golden egg. The egg was solid gold like the one he saw on his way up. Suddenly the giant sat erect...Fee fi fo fum, I smell the blood of a human..grrrr. Jack's blood froze,had he heard correctly? He had to run.
Half an hour later the giant had fallen asleep and Jack saw the goose,he was tempted to take it so he followed what his mind said and picked it up and ran. 'Fee fi fo fum...who is stealing my goose?' The giant saw the boy and screamed 'Come back here and I'll use your bones as toothpicks.' Jack hurried outside and started climbing down the beanstalk. The giant started climbing but the he knew that he couldn't enter the Earth's atmosphere as he would burn like a meteorite. Then,he slipped and he rushed down past Jack. The giant fell right into the atmosphere and burst into flames.
That was the end of the giant. Jack and his mother lived happily ever after with their goose and their golden eggs.

ReplyDeleteOne Autunm day a boy called Matt was walking throught a busy village with his horse until he saw a man wearing a guinea hat and he wailed"Over here"my legs drawed against him "ah I have been inspecting someone to come"said the Genie "for what""Do you want a tomato?"No,I have enough for my pasta"."Sure"Yes."And what about for a cow?"Alright"give the flea first."What flea?" that thingy magigy"you mean a dog" yup" why?" this will be in good hands".Fine". He took home to show his mum,but she didn't care .He planted the seed the next day. He saw a giant tomato stem.He climbed it, but there,they were ladybirds, almost the size of myself I kicked them of and arrived to the top I saw a lot of gold.It was a dream come true untill I heard a voice "fee fie foe I smell human blood"

I came back home and I bought a big house for my mom and land for crops

Kirsty and the three snakes
ReplyDeleteOne hot summer evening Kirsty decided to go to the forest to get some fresh air. Once she got to the heart of the forest it began to rain and there was a windy tremendous storm.
As the storm got worse Kirsty saw a little cottage,She went inside. In the first room there was a table with three wooden bowls. Inside there was orange soup. Kirsty tried the big bowl it was far too salty, Kirsty tried the medium bowl it was far too sweet Kirsty tried the small one it was just right!
Kirsty wanted to rest so she went to a different room and she saw three chairs. Kirsty tried the big blue chair but it was too bumpy she tried the other one but it was far to squeaky she tried the last one and it was just right.
As Kirsty was getting of the chair it broke . Kirsty went upstairs and she saw three beds. The first two were big but the last one was just right. Kirsty slept for a while but she woke up by a loud hissing sound. "Sssomone drank my soup and broke my chair and now there on my bed." Kirsty woke up."Why are you in my house."said a slithering snake. "I didn't know that sorry" said Kirsty and she ran out of the house.

ReplyDeleteOne day Melissa was talking to her mum then her mum said " melissa can you get some berries from the woods". Melissa said " yes I will mummy". Then she got her basket and set off to get the berries. She came to a barn so she looked through the keyhole and there was only carrots inside. "Im hungry" Melissa said to herself. She pushed the door but it didn't open so she kicked it really hard and then it did open. Melissa tried the first carrot and that was too hard, the next one was too soft but the last carrot was just right! Im tired, Melissa thought, so she went to the next stable where there was 3 beds made of straw. The first one was very large, Melissa layed down but that was too hard, the second medium sized bed was too sharp but the next little bed was just right so Melissa snuggled up for abit. Melissa accidently fell asleep. The three horses came home. They saw the door was open so they walked in. They saw that there were bites in mummy and daddy carrots. "Who's been eating my carrots?" said daddy horse. "Who's been eating my carrots?" said mummy horse. "And they've eaten them all up!." Baby horse began to cry.
Next daddy and mummy horse and baby horse went to the other stable to check their beds. Daddy horse and mummy horse's beds were flat. "Who's been sleeping in my bed?" asked daddy horse. " Who's been sleeping in my bed ?"asked mummy horse. " And who's been sleeping my bed and there still their!" said baby horse and baby horses said So mummy horse daddy horse and baby horse started to licked melissa's face and she woke and screamed and ran home. The next day Melissa brought new carrots and hay and gave it to the three horses and that they were so happy that they invited melissa inside to play. Melissa learnt her lesson, that she should go in a persons propety
Jack and the been stalk.
ReplyDeleteOnce upon a time there lived a very poor boy called Jack. Jack had a cow and one day he took the cow (Daisy) for a walk and as they walked, they saw a man selling magic beans. Jack sold the cow (Daisy) for the beans. When he got home he planted the magic beans.
The next day Jack went out side and there was a huge bean stalk. Jack decided to climb the bean stalk. When he got to the top he saw a castle. He tiptoed inside the castle.
When he went inside he heard a booming voice. Jack felt frightened. However, he did not run away as he spotted a shiny, golden harp and decided he wanted to take it. He climbed the bookshelf all the way up to the shiny, golden harp and hung it over his shoulder as it was too big to carry.
Whilst he was on the bookshelf Jack spotted a golden egg laying chicken in the corner of the room. He jumped down from the high bookshelf and ran across the room to grab the chicken. Suddenly he heard the booming voice of the giant again. He ducked into the kitchen where a kind lady giant was baking the giants food. She smiled at Jack and helped him escape....but the giant spotted him from the corner of his eye.
The giant jumped out of his seat and stomped across the room after Jack. Jack quickly climbed down the beanstalk. As he got to the bottom he looked up and saw the giant coming down. Jack grabbed his axe and started chopping down the beanstalk "thwack". With a loud cracking noise the beanstalk fell and so did the giant.
That was the end of the giant. Jack lived happily ever after with his mother and was rich forever.

DeleteOnce upon a time there was a girl called Lilly . One day Lilly snuck out of her house into the woods and she found a cottage ,she knocked on the door but there was no response so she opened the door when she walked in she found three bowls of porridge she tried the first bowl of porridge but that to hot so she tried the one in the middle but that was to warm so she tried the one at the end and that was perfect so she ate all of it. Then she found a chair she sat on the first one but that was to big for her she sat on the second one and it was just a little big for her then she sat on the last one and it was perfect but she accidently broke it. Then she started to fell tired so she went upstairs and sat on the first bed but it was way too big so she went on the second one it was just a little bit big for her so she went on the last bed and that was perfect. After 30 minutes the door opened three bears came through the door and they saw the eaten porridge and the broken seat and then went upstairs and they saw Lilly in the and woke her up Lilly ran out and started to scream. The next day she went back and apologies and helped to fix the chair and made new porridge and they lived happily ever after.
ReplyDeleteOnce upon a time there was three bears, daddy bear,mummy bear baby bear.One morning mummy bear was making proddge and it was very hot,so the decide to go for a walk while the porridge cools down.there was a girl called goldilocks who went for a walk, she got tierd and seen a little cottage and though she could rest there. she opened the door and saw tree bowls, the first bowl the proddige was too hot, the second bowl was too sweet, the last bowl was just right and she ate it all up. OH I feel so tierd now IM going to bed. The first bed was too big, the second bed wAS too lumpy the third bed was just wright and she fell asleep. Meanwhile the bears return home, daddy bear said somone has been eating my porridge,mummy bear said somone been eating my porridge,baby bear said I have none left.lets go upstairs i hear somthing.Daddy bear says som0one been sleeping in my bed, mummy bear said somone been sleeping in my bed, baby bear sais somo0ne is in my bed.suddenly Goldilocks woke up and saw the bears screamed and ran off. ReplyDeleteOnce a upon a time Jake went to keep his goat in the stable when he saw seeds in the colours of jellybeans. Once he put his goat back in the stable he went to his mom and said” Mom, look what I found” shoving the magical seeds on the table “My, my, you should go and plant these funny glowing beans “his mum said staring at the seeds. Straight away he went into the garden and planted the glowing seeds in the middle of his garden.
A couple of weeks later, a large twisty stem appeared out of the ground,” This must be what the seeds I found a couple of weeks ago produced.” When he looked up he saw the stalk went higher than the sky he thought” Why not climb this stalk and see what’s at the top.” he said to himself whilst gazing at the twisted stem .
So, he climbed and climbed, hopped and hopped to each leaf. Once he got above the clouds, he saw a giant floating castle made out of gold and the size of 10 bungalows. He leaped through the door and saw a chicken that laid gold eggs. While he was watching the chicken he heard a trolls booming voice” I want lunch!” Jake quickly nicked the chicken and made his way down.
Jake lived a happy life(and a rich one)and the troll lived a terrible life.

ReplyDeleteOnce upon a time a little girl who loved red the colour, she was called Little Red Riding Hood.She lived in a cottage near the woods their house was full of nature and creatures.It was a wonderful place to live in.There were thousands of flowers.
One warm sunny day her mum told her that "your lovely granny is ill.So kindly would go and meet her,Also can you take a basket of fruit along can you also pick some flowers from the woods,there some rules that you need to remember no.1.go to granny house only no. 2.do not speak to anyone in the woods no.3.don't pick anything dangerous and bye take care."
Little Red Riding Hood set off for her journey to granny's and back.Granny's house was in the woods.This woods were different because the atmostphere was bright and kindful.This woods was certianly not damp and scary.There were lots of rabbits.
Little Red Riding Hood was walking and suddunly she found perfect flowers for her granny,so she caustionly picked them up,all in a sudden a wolf came she started talking to the and she broke a rule.The wolf hungry so he was finding a human being to eat.
The wolf was hungry he found Little Red Riding Hood to eat.So he tried to make a plan but it did not work,and asked sweetly"What are you doing in the woods?" Little Red Riding Hood cheerfully said "I'm going to vist my granny because she is ill.She lives in the woods."
The evil wolf mubbled"I'll run to Little Red Riding Hood granny's house and gobble her up."So the wolf ran to granny's house.When wolf got to granny's house he ate her one glup.The wolf put on granny's clothes and snuggled into her bed.
Little Red Riding Hood arrived a last.She rattled the door and kindly said "please may I come in."Welcome to my home dear."sweetly said the wolf."Get well soon granny" said Little Red Riding Hood.Granny's house was a beatiful house.
Little Red Riding Hood went up to the bed."What humagus eyes you have" surprisingly said Little Red Riding Hood" all the better see you with" scuttled the wolf."what pointy nose you have" screeched Little Red Riding Hood "all the better snif you"said the wolf
" what sharp teeth you have " cowardly said Little Red Riding Hood " all the better to eat you with!" kindly said the wolf.All in a sudden bounced out the wolf and opened his mouth wide and started scaring Little Red Riding Hood with his his firey eyes.
"I'm going to gobble you up" roared the wolf "HELP HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" cried Little Red Riding Hood.Sadly the wolf ate her up in one gulp.The baskest of fruit tumbled down.
The woodcutter was to the rescue he heard Little Red Riding Hood.The woodcutter killed the wolf.And the granny and Little Red Riding Hood jumpped out Little Red Riding Hood was excited.They lived happliy ever after.

Jack and the beanstalk
ReplyDeleteOnce there was a boy called Jack and he had a mum and a cow. Jack had to sell the cow because it stopped giving milk.
He saw a man and he (man) said : " give me the cow and I will give you five seeds". Jack said the man :"ok".
Jack ran to home and showed the seeds to hi mum.
His mum was not happy that he sold a cow for some seeds so she through them out the window.
Jack went to bed and the next day Jack saw a gigantic beanstalk.
He claimed up the beanstalk and saw a big castle. He went under the door and saw a gigantic giant with his harp so Jack stool it with the gold and ran but the giant chased him. Jack slide under the door and ran but the giant was still chasing Jack so his mum cut the beanstalk and Jack fell down.
Giant ran away and Jack didn't ever clime up a beanstalk again.

He wanted to see were it leads to, so he climbed up. At the top of the beanstalk there was a castle. He went inside. The castle belonged to a giant. Jack stole money and a chicken from the giant. The giant chased Jack down the beanstalk but Jack was first to get down.He cut down the beanstalk. The giant fell and got killed when he hit the ground. Jack and his mum were never poor again.
Goldilocks and the Three Bears

She came past a house.So she went in.There were three bowls of porridge there.She tried the first one it was tooooo hot the second one tooo cold but the third one was perfect so she ate it all up.she went upstairs she saw three beds the 1 one was to hard the second one to soft the 3 one was perfect so she ate it all .

Goldilocks and the Three Bears
ReplyDeleteOne beautiful day Goldilocks woke up and was hungry. She went downstairs to look in the kitchen to find her mum, but she wasn’t there. So she went for a walk to the woods.
There she saw a little cottage. She went inside the cottage as the door was open. When she walked inside she saw a chair and a TV. She went to go sit down in the big chair but it was too high. Then she went to try and sit on the medium chair but it was too bouncy. Then she saw a baby chair and sat on it and it was just right. As Goldilocks was too heavy for the chair the chair broke.
Then she walked to the kitchen where she saw 3 bowls of porridge. She tried the big bowl but it was too hot and was too lumpy. Then she tried the medium bowl but it was less lumpy then the first one but too cold. Then she tried the small bowl which was absolutely perfect, she ate it all up.
After eating the porridge Goldilocks started to feel sleepy. She went upstairs and found 3 beds. She tried the biggest bed but it was too hard. Then she tried the medium bed but it was too uncomfortable. Then she tried the small bed which was so soft and warm. Goldilocks fell asleep.
The house belonged to the 3 bears. They came back from their walk. When they walked into the tv room, daddy bear said, “someone has been sitting in my chair”. Then mummy bear said “someone has sat in my chair”, and finally baby bear said “someone has broken my chair”. Daddy bear was very upset as that used to be his chair when he was young.
They were all hungry so they went in the kitchen to eat their porridge. Daddy bear said “someone has tried my porridge”, mummy bear said “someone has tried my porridge too” and then baby bear said “someone has eaten all my porridge”.
After this all the three bear were very sleepy so they went up the staircase to the bedroom. Daddy bear looked at his bed and said “whose been sleeping in my bed?” mummy bear said “look how untidy my bed is, whose been sleeping in my bed” and then baby bear said “look there is somebody sleeping in my bed”.
Just then Goldilocks woke up and saw the big mean face of the bears. They all growled a mighty growl and Goldilocks ran all the way home and the bears never saw her ever again.
Little Red Riding Hood
ReplyDeleteOnce, there was a little girl who lived in a village near the woods. Whenever the little girl went out, she always wore a red riding cloak so everybody called her Little Red Riding hood.
One day little red riding hood asked her mum if she could go to her grandma’s cottage because little red riding hood hadn’t seen here for a while and also she was ill.
“That’s a very good idea”, said her mother. So, both of them packed a nice basket with cookies and herbs in it for little red riding hood to take to her grandmother.
When the lovely basket was ready, little red riding hood put on her red riding hood, took the basket and waved her mum good bye.
“Little red riding hood, remember to go straight to your grandma’s house! Don’t go off the path and please please please do not talk to the strangers! The woods are very dangerous!” warned little red riding hood’s mother.
“I will be very careful mum” said little red riding hood. “You don’t need to worry”.
But when little red riding hood saw some beautiful flowers ahead, she completely forgot about the promise she said to her mother. Little red riding hood picked a few flowers and watched some butterflies, heard some frogs and then started picking flowers again.
Little red riding hood was enjoying the beautiful day so much, that she did not notice the dark shadow approaching behind her…
All of a sudden, a big bad wolf appeared beside her. “What are you doing little girl?” asked the wolf as friendly as he could speak.
“I’m on my way to my grandmother’s little cottage to give her delicious cookies and fresh herbs that I picked in the woods” replied little red riding hood foolishly.
Then suddenly she realised how late she was and grandma would be fast asleep by now. Quickly she excused herself and rushed down the path to her grandma’s house. Meanwhile the wolf was taking a shortcut…
The big bad wolf a little out of breadth came rushing down the hill to little red riding hood’s grandmother’s house and knocked on the door.
“Oh my goodness dear I’ve been worried sick that you’ve been lost in the woods!” said grandma thinking it was her granddaughter.
Then the big bad wolf let himself in. Poor grandma didn’t not have time to say anything before the wolf gobbled her up in one gulp.
The wolf let out a satisfied burp and then changed into one of grandma’s pink frilly night gowns.
A little time later, little red riding hood knocked on the door. The big bad wolf jumped and then pulled up the covers up his nose. “Who is it?” he called in a crackly voice.
“It’s me your granddaughter” said little red riding hood.
“Oh how lovely come in” croaked the wolf.
When little red riding hood entered the lovely, yellow cottage she could not recognise her grandma. “Grandma your voice is very odd, is something the matter and are you very ill” asked little red riding hood shocked.
“Just a little touch of cold” said the wolf with a very big gigantic cough to prove that she had a cough.
“But grandma you have really big ears” said little red riding hood. “To hear you better” replied the wolf. “But grandma you really have big eyes” said the little girl. “To see you better my darling” replied the wolf. “But grandma you have really big teeth” said the girl nervously. “To eat you better” roared the wolf and began to chase little red riding hood.
When the hunter who was searching for animals heard little red riding hood, he came and saw what it was. He saw the wolf chasing and quickly cut the hairy tummy in half and little red riding hood’s grandma came out in one piece. Little red riding hood and her grandma had all the cookies and herbs she picked and they both lived happily ever after.
