Our Maths topics this week
have been area, perimeter and co-ordinates. Maths homework has been set on the
Mathletics website. Please ask your teacher for a paper copy if you are not
able to access the website.
Please also practise your
times tables. This week I need to practise my _____ x tables.
Literacy:
This week we are starting to
write short stories to enter into our C8 schools short story competition. The
children are planning their story and need to write their first draft.
For your homework this week,
we would like you to finish your first draft and return it to school on Friday
27th January 2017.
Spellings (20mins:
These
should be practised for a short time each day, using the words given in
sentences. This week your spellings all contain suffixes. Look carefully
at how the root word changes.
You need to:
• look at each word
• say the word
• copy the word in first

• cover the words and try to
write it from memory
• check to see if they are
right

Once upon a time there was a boy and his grandfather who lived in a house with an attic. The
ReplyDeleteboy was very curious.
One night the boy went inside the attic and saw a mirror which was a spell mirror. He was attracted by the mirror, and when he touched it, because he was very curious, suddenly he was sucked and pulled in another world, a sparkling and fizzing world. Then he cried for help but no one was hearing him and he was stacked in between one unreal world and the next, his real world.
In the next morning his grandfather saw that his grandson wasn’t in his room and he thought that his grandson’s missing is related with the spell mirror. Inside grandfather’s heart it was a lot of desperation. The boy wanted to escape from the land beyond so, to be back in his real world he thought to touch again the spell mirror. Immediately the spell mirror was splitting and cracking. Then the grandfather with his extraordinary powers and invisible force pulled out his grandson who felt tensing every muscle because of the electrifying sparks which came out from the spell mirror. Finally the boy and his grandfather’s nightmare came to an end, all was well and happy!
