Year 4 Homework-Autumn Week 3

Alien Explanation
If an alien came down to Earth from another planet
he would probably be very confused by a lot of things he would find here. Look
around your house. There are a lot of things in your house that would confuse
an alien. You probably take a lot of these things for granted. Things like a
television, a games console, a computer, a vacuum cleaner, and a washing
machine would probably be unknown to the alien.
Imagine an alien did land on Earth and that you made
friends with it. Choose an item from the list above, or use an idea of your
own, and explain what it is to the
alien. Write your explanation down. Think about what the thing is used for, how
you use it and how it works.
Remember to read through your work carefully before
you post and check for spelling and punctuation errors.

My new alien friend Emma wanted to know about our tv. This is what I said... First you have to make sure its plugged in and press the red power button on the remote that looks like this ��. Now you can choose from a million different things to watch like the news, sports channels, YouTube ��, Netflix, and it also has an internet page so you search absolutely anything, our TV

If you press 103 ,you will find itv news and if you would like to see a movie you press 405, and you would see the film like Jurassic park ||| , jurrasics park || and Jurassic world. Then if your film has just started and you are tired and you really want to see it you can press the recorded button you can see it tomorrow or pause it if you need to pop for wee . The look on Emma's face was so funny I told her not to look so baffled . Its really not that difficult . Before I knew it Emma got really good and had taken over my tv .
You assume that the alien knows a lot Megan. Explanations need to be clear and simple this is more of a story.

I found an alien and took him home. "What, why is a human spaceship in your house!"exclaimed the alien,"A round door, square body...". Then I found him sitting inside the washing machine acting like an astronaut in a tiny space. I took him out of the machine "Listen, that's a washing machine, we put our outer shells in there when they're dirty and it cleans them," pointing at my clothes.
ReplyDeleteThen I had to tell him how we dirty our clothes."So we dirty our clothes by going in grass and other things." "What's grass?" he asked.
Then I had to take him to the garden, "This is grass," I said, picking up a thin blade of grass.
It took him some time to take it all in. His only comment was "That's a lot of knowledge to take in," he said with a concentrated face.
You need to explain more about the washing machine Arush this is more of a story than an explanation text.

ReplyDeleteIf an alien came down to earth, he would think a vacuum cleaner was an oval, smooth, item sucking grey hosepipe. He would think that the oval, smooth, item sucking wobbly hosepipe would be actually be used as a long hair dryer. The alien would need to use the oval, smooth, item sucking wobbly hair dryer like: first, you need to put a little bit of hair inside the pipe, and then you will need to press the middle button on the oval. Then the oval, smooth, item sucking, grey, wobbly, long, hair dryer will pull your hair until ever hair has completed dried!

One day a alien landed in my kitchen, it looked left and right and asked me a question.” What is that? ,” As he pointed to my toaster. “That is a toaster” I said “ What does it do,” “Well, you put bread in it and turn the toaster on and the toaster kind of burns it not till it is black but until it is golden brown, then you could either put jam , butter or margarine on the toast and eat it.” Then we walked into my living room and he noticed my computer. “What is this ?” He asked, “It is a computer” I replied “ what is it for?” he asked. “A computer is does lots of different types of stuff, you could either play games on it or find out facts by going onto the internet and type in the search bar whatever you would like to find out.” I said “ Very interesting I would love to stay but I have to go it was nice meeting you bye” he said “bye” I replied.

Alien this is a television and I will tell you what is this and how this works.
ReplyDeleteTelevision this is big, black box with special stick named tv remote. You can switch in on when used remote control. You can choose a number and this is chanel number. You can only change it from 1 to 999. You can watch a movie, sport, news, listen to music and a lot more. Now watch the television and be happy.
One day an Alien came to my house and I saw it looking all funny at my kitchen appliances. When i asked what it was looking at it pointed at my washing machine with its four fingers. I told the alien that a washing machine is a type of appliance. It is used to clean clothes then pointed at a pile of washing and showed him that we wear clothes. I opened the drawer on the top of the washing machine and showed it the bottle of detergent and showed him how to pour it. After that i put the dirty clothes inside the drum of the washing machine and closed the door. There are lots of buttons on the front so i showed him the ones i needed too use to wash the clothes. The next day i took out the clothes and hung them to dry and told the alien that is how you use a washing machine.

The light lights up the room.
I showed the alien the switch to switch on the light.
The light is like the sun but the difference is the light is electronic and the sun is with burning things.
If an alien came down to earth,he will not recognize your world,your house,all the objects what they are and all of the countries like Germany,Italy and France.Aliens will also don't know everyone that I know.They will not know everything because aliens don't have brains.
ReplyDeleteIf you can become a friend with an alien and if they don't know what a television is you could tell them what it is,how it works and how to change the channel.If they also don't recognise what a channel is you can tell them what they are and what the channel is.I can also tell them what the number is to see what channel and the program what they want to watch.An alien will not come in real life,but it doesn't matter because when they come,you can make friends.
A description of a laptop...
ReplyDeleteA laptop is a machine you use to play, work and watch. It is a metal frame with glass (that is called a screen) and it has a layout with our alphabet on buttons; for example if I pressed the button saying 'o' the letter 'o' would come up on the screen. All laptops have a battery which is a wire and a plug. You put the plug in a socket then place the other end in the laptop and it will work. There is also a password to protect your laptop. So if your password was 'Alien' and you wrote 'Cleaner' you wouldn't be allowed on your laptop. You can also make nice sounds come out of laptops by playing music. You can put a disc (called a C.D) in and you will hear music. There are lots of programmes and they allow you to speak to people. So if you lived in Australia you could speak to people in Canada!!! But to do that you must have a camera on your laptop. Some laptops are big and some laptops are small. Whatever the size you can always carry them around and you can always turn them on...anywhere!!!

DeleteLast week a alien came to my house by accidently because there was a star stuck in the engine but luckily the star got out after six days.

she looked at my books and looked puzzled . I said if you read it you will get clever, happy , sad , emanative and funny . you get flick up books and all sorts of all kinds of books.
